Maher Bahu, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Bahu is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He completed his medical education at Wayne State University, his residency at McLaren Regional Medical Center and his fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital. His specialties include shoulder, elbow, and sports medicine.

John Koh, MD, Ophthalmology

Dr. Koh graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He finished his residency at the Eye Foundation Hospital/University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also a clinical instructor in Oculoplastic Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Koh has clinical interests in Botox, Eyelid Surgery, Tear Duct Surgery and Thyroid/Eye Surgery.

Malik McKany, MD, General Surgery

Dr. McKany graduated from Baghdad University College of Medicine. He did his residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac and completed training in endoscopy and pancreatic surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. McKany is currently the Director of the Hernia Center at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and is Chairman of the Department of General Surgery. He also specializes in advanced single port laparoscopic surgery.

Shivajee Nallamothu, DO, Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Nallamothu attended medical school and completed both his internship and residency at Michigan State University. Dr. Nallamothu is an associate clinic professor of orthopedic surgery at Michigan State University. He specializes in arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee as well as minimally-invasive total joint replacement.

Mark Rolain, MD, Ophthalmologist

Dr. Rolain completed medical school at Wayne State University and his residency at Henry Ford Hospital. He has extensive training and experience in LASIK, PRK, and Refractive Lensectomy. He also provides comprehensive eye care for cataracts.


Dr. Steven Bolton, General Surgery and Gastroenterology

Dr. Bolton graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at both DMC-Sinai Grace Hospital and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital. Dr. Bolton is the founder and volunteer Medical Director of a free clinic in Pontiac. He has received numerous honors and awards for his active participation in aiding the community. Additionally, he has been the three time recipient of the coveted Teaching Award at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.


Dr. Robert Goo, Gastroenterologist

Dr. Goo attended the University of the Philippines, Manila, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University. He served his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Goo has served as an Instructor at the School of Medicine, University of the Philippines and as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University. He has been listed as one of metro Detroit's top gastroenterologists in Hour Magazine. Dr. Goo is currently the Chief of Gastroenterology at Huron Valley - Sinai Hospital. He is fluent in Chinese, Filipino and Spanish.

Dr. Kris Haase, Podiatrist

Dr. Haase is a foot and ankle specialist and surgeon. He attended medical school in Chicago and served his residency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He offers current, comprehensive care for children, seniors and diabetics. New advances, cutting-edge implants and surgical procedures intrigue Dr. Haase. Dr. Safiul Hasan, Gastroenterologist

Following medical school, Dr. Karmo’s career brought him to Medical College of Wisconsin for his residency. Dr. Safa Kassab, Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Kassab is an orthopedic surgeon who treats diseases and injuries of bones, joints, and tendons. He completed his undergraduate degree at Wayne State University and graduated in the top 10% of his class. He completed orthopedic surgery training at the Detroit Medical Center and was elected Chief Orthopedic Resident in his final year. Dr. Steven Rapp, Neurosurgeon

Dr. Rasansky is an internist, with a sub-specialty of gastroenterology. He is a graduate from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, in Iowa. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at St. John Oakland Hospital and is on staff at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital and St. John Oakland Hospital.

Dr. Abul Shamsuddoha, Gastroenterologist

Dr. Shamsuddoha is a graduate from Dhaka Medical College, in Bangladesh. He completed his residency at Veterans Affairs Medical Center and St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland. He also completed his fellowship at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland.

Dr. Rick Siegel, Podiatrist

Dr. Siegel is a podiatrist-foot surgeon that has served the Waterford/North Oakland area for 30 years. He received his medical education from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at Kern Hospital for Specialty Surgery. He maintains staff privileges at St. Josephs’ Mercy Hospital - Oakland, Waterford Surgical Center, and Doctors' Hospital of Michigan. He is a Fellow of American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Bashar Succar, Otolaryngologist

Prior to practicing Otolaryngology at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, Dr. Succar attended medical school at Faculty of Medicine-Egypt. Following medical school, Dr. Succar’s career brought him to Henry Ford Hospital for his residency. Dr. Ghalib Talia, Gastroenterologist

Dr. Talia is a colon and rectal specialist. He received his medical education from Bagdad University College of Medicine. Dr. Talia then completed his colon and rectal surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical School and attended St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland to complete his General Surgery residency. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Farouk Tootla, Gastroenterologist

Dr. Tootla treats diseases such as colon cancer, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, crohn’s disease, polyps and lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Dr. Tootla attended medical school in Durban, South Africa and graduated with honors. His general surgery residency was completed at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and he subsequently obtained his board certification, followed by a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Tootla has presented papers and posters at the American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and at the American College of Surgeons. Several of his papers have been published in prestigious journals. He is one of the first surgeons in the country to use the da Vinci® robot to perform colon or rectal surgery.

Dr. Bashar Yaldo, General Surgery

Dr. Yaldo graduated from Baghdad University. He then completed his residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. Dr. Yaldo is one of the first surgeons in Michigan to offer the innovative EsophyX TIF procedure for treating the cause of chronic acid reflux. A completely incisionless procedure, EsophyX TIF reconstructs the antireflux barrier to provide a solution to the anatomical root cause of Gastroesophogeal Reflux Disease (GERDs).

Dr. Bhavani Garapati, Anesthesiologist

Dr. Garapati received his medical education from Guntar Medical College in India and completed his residency from Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He practiced anesthesia at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital from 1977 until joining Waterford Surgical Center last year. He also practices pain management and does epidural steroid injections, along with other nerve blocks.
